I can't tell you how happy I am now that the sun is shining. The past few weeks in San Francisco have been rather gloomy and has clearly taken a toll on my outfit choices. I kept things simple in black and white for a quick getaway to Napa to enjoy that California sun (& wine).

Fridaze.

I don't know about you, but this week really let me have it. After a rather stressful few days, there's nothing like a walk in the city on a beautiful Friday evening and letting all the noise from the week melt away.

Sticky Fingers.

There's nothing like the softest cashmere and a new pair of shoes to brighten up this gals day. Although I have to admit, I totally stole this sweater from my mom. Completely unintentional, but I know she wasn't thrilled. But not to worry, it's already been returned to it's rightful owner. (Sorry about that, Mom!)

Crossroads.

Sometimes life just isn't fair, but it's important to remember everything happens for a reason. While you may not understand everything as it happens, it'll all make sense in the end. Have faith.

Falling for Fall.

While I'm particularly fond of Summer heat, my feelings towards Fall are slowly changing. Rather than resist the inevitable change in weather, this year I'm embracing the season by layering up and continue to wear the best accessory everyone has - a smile. Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

Everything's just roses this fine Friday. The moment I laid eyes on these silk pants, I was smitten. They are unsuspectingly versatile as they work their way into my closet. Either dressed up with linen tuxedo jacket and nude pumps &  bracelets for a night on the town or a more casual day at the beach in a comfy t-shirt & cross body bag and leather sandals. Looking forward to living in them over the weekend ahead as I plan on crossing off number 10 on my Summer to-do list.

When natural disasters happen like the tornadoes that recently touched down in the Midwest, I think to myself what if I lost all of my possessions? While my closet is important to me, the reality is - it's just stuff. My clothing doesn't define me, but does allow me to express who I am. What really matters are the people in your life, lasting relationships built and memories collected along the way. Those are truly priceless. Happy weekend and enjoy the ones your with. xo

As a child I always loved playing in my mom's closet. I would spend hours pouring over luxe fabrics, intricate detailing, cool accessories and designer shoes & handbags - she has a look for everything in her perfectly curated collection. And to be honest, not much has changed since. Every time I visit home I find myself exactly back where I started, cruising through my mom's closet.

This dress was one of my favorites she wore when I was little. So different from other items in her closet, I remember asking why she chose that dress and her reply was simply "You can't help but feel happy in this dress". Of course, who wouldn't want a happy dress? So you can imagine how elated I was a few years ago when my mom handed it down to me. Beyond thrilled.

Happy Mother's Day to all those wonderful woman out there who make the world a better place. And a special happy day to my fabulous, fashionable mom. Can't wait to spend the weekend with you! xo

Mori Point.

Last Sunday, my guy wanted to take a drive along the coast just to get out of the house for a bit. Since we had been cooped up all day I decided to throw on some bright lipstick and new dress from eShakti and head out on our adventure. We found ourselves at beach with slate gray sand just before sunset. Just gorgeous. Though my dress wasn't the most practical for the beach, I love its feminine, flirty structure. I opted to alter the length after realizing I don't have anything that hit midi-length in closet (and because the opportunity to customize a dress & make it my own special piece is too good to pass up) and couldn't be happier with the result. Now if I had just thought to bring something a little warmer to wear on top because as soon as that sun went down...brrr.
