Feeling Fall.

{H&M shirt & skirt, Gap tights, Anne Klein shoes, Rebecca Minkoff purse, JCrew bracelet, Dad's necklace}

The fog is starting to roll in earlier and earlier each evening. Time to cozy up in favorite flannels, heavier luxurious fabrics and playful tights mixed along with some of my favorite familiar items like my dad's wings placed on a chain.

Latest & Greatest.

It's like I'm 30 going on 13. You wouldn't believe the excitement that I expressed when I saw the Toasty Melts truck - pretty sure I skipped all the way there. Between this grilled cheese godsend along with other recent discovery  @PicodeGapSF, I'm really coming into my own with developing my food truck palate {and growing obsession}. Fact is, food just tastes better out of trucks {no worries, this excludes strangers with candy in window-less vans}

Oh, and the Irish Car Bomb is a must try.

3 Things.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday. Since she had plans to see Tony Bennett that evening at the Mountain Winery {lucky girl} and I am under a tight deadline, we decided to do an early breakfast in the city. After a delicious breakfast at Dottie's we headed to DSW to peruse the aisles chit chatting. Though it was a simple day, I couldn't have had more fun with anyone else - Happy Birthday to my lovely Mom!

{AK leopard heels & Ralph Lauren Sahara boots}

1. Finding the perfect birthday card. So perfect, I received the very same one from a dear friend for my birthday.

2. The BEST french toast from Dottie's; well worth the wait.

3. Yet another successful trip to the "library".

Basil Aioli.

Ingredients
1 large egg
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 to 6 cloves garlic, peeled
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup lightly packed rinsed fresh mint leaves, fresh basil leaves, or coarsely chopped Italian parsley
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 cup olive oil

Preparation
In a food processor, mix egg, lemon juice, garlic {to taste}, salt, mint leaves and lemon peel until well blended. With machine running, gradually add olive oil in a thin, steady stream until all is incorporated. Add more salt {to taste}.

·      Quick Aioli: Omit the egg and oil, and use 1 cup purchased mayonnaise instead. Mix mayonnaise with lemon juice, garlic, salt, mint leaves, and lemon peel until smooth. Makes about 1 cup.

Add to grill shrimp & veggies for dinner. Enjoy!

Michael's on Main.

Patio dining and fireside seating, plus live music, great food, best ingredients, gracious chef and owner, karaoke, weekday happy hour, more. Not to mention beautiful creek view.

Oh, and their sweet potato fries with aioli is the BEST

If you find yourself in Santa Cruz CA, make sure to try Michael's on Main - yummers!

3 Things.

This past weekend I was able to sneak away to Santa Cruz for a night. Though the time was too short, there was a lot of fun to be had - from dining at some of my favorite restaurants to playing dress up in some Missoni for Target scores. My time was especially great because it was spent with my mom - she's simply the best!

Here are a few of our weekend highlights:

1. The BEST pulled pork sliders from Michael's on Main - delish!

2. My new favorite arm candy from JCrew (get it here).

3. A song I just couldn't escape. And loved it.

Pico de Gap.

Serving up tacos created by Top Chef alum Ryan Scott in honor of Gap’s new 1969 Fall Denim Collection, you can snag two tacos and a Mexican Coke or Jarritos for $1.69, along with a coupon for $20 off the new Gap denim line. Tacos y denim - combining my two favorite past times shopping and eating. Genius!

To find out where the taco truck will be next, follow on twitter here.

Missed Ziggy.

Waking up to this little face, how could today be anything but good?

Have a great day!

3 Things {Woe Is Me Edition}.

When it rains, it pours. Between juggling a ridiculous amount of deadlines driven work that has kept me away from some fun things I've been looking forward to {eh hem, NYFW, 49ers game -no big deal}, this painful pinched nerve in my neck and trying to shake this pesky cold, I didn't think things could get any worse. That is, until I received a phone call that my dad was in the hospital and was in recovery from emergency surgery. Thankfully, he's going to be alright, which is most important. But it's still just so scary - he's my dad. Though it doesn't seem that my schedule is going be letting up anytime soon I trust that God wouldn't give me anything I couldn't handle. Although largely uneventful, my weekend was simple and pleasant. Here are a few items that made me both laugh and cry.

1. A song that always brings a smile to my face (along with some alligator tears) every time I hear it.

2. Off to a great start, the San Francisco 49ers won their 1st game of the season - thanks to my lucky "lacy & bejeweled" shirt, of course.

3. Honoring and remembering 9/11 - my thoughts and prayers are with all the families & loved ones affected by the devastating tragedy. We will never forget....

Moving Forward.

{Charlotte Ronson dress, Circa Jean & David sandals, Soixante Neuf bracelet, College of the Desert street fair bracelets, JCrew watch, Tiffany ring}

 Back when I was healthy wearing a cute {& comfy} Charlotte Ronson dress. I'd ask for a restart button on this week, but wouldn't want to chance it being a repeat; quite the laundry list of unpleasant instances. Everything, and I mean everything has been a task plus I'm still fighting a cold. So I'm taking a break from the city and heading to the sun for some rest and relaxation.

Have a great long weekend!

Classic Necessity.

Back To Basics.

Each September I make it my mission to find the perfect white blouse. Whether it's a classic cut or a woven with a twist, a crisp white shirt is a simple piece that can be dressed up or down with little fuss - the perfect go-to when you have "nothing to wear".
