Easy Breezy.

Nicole Miller dress / Cole Haan heels / Everlane clutch (c/o) / Hermes bracelet / DVF sunglasses (c/o)

When enduring New York's sweltering heat, it's comforting to know that my forever faithful Nicole Miller tank dress is by my side. It's comfy, easy to wear and it makes me feel like a million bucks. What more could you want?

Wedding Week: The Look.

Shopping for a wedding dress was probably the most stressful aspect of planning the wedding. Actually, I think I was more intimidated than anything. I never had that vision as a little girl as to what I would look like on my wedding day, but knew I didn't want anything too fussy, cheesy, or overwhelming. It wasn't until my mom and I were in New York this past February that I tried on my first dress at the Reem Acra showroom. Quite honestly, the entire experience was a dream come true and felt so right especially because at that time, we were planning for a New Year's Eve wedding. But as life happens, we moved up the wedding and had a much smaller time frame to work within.

After I went to try on dresses at a bridal store in San Francisco, I knew I did not want to go the traditional route. It just wasn't me. I started to look at white dresses at Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, you name it, but found nothing. I was starting to feel discouraged until my mom sent dress options from Gilt Groupe to my email, including this beautiful Valentino. Someone must have had the same idea because the dress was unavailable just a few minutes later and it was gone. Little did I know that my mom had waitlisted the dress and one day received an excited call from her to say it was available and it was ours. I finally had my dress.

Next, I needed to find the perfect undergarments. My dress had such intricate lace and beading detail, but was quite sheer. I didn't want anything that would take away from the beauty of the design, but still wanted comfort and coverage. I turned to ThirdLove. and in minutes had taken measurements via their handy (and accurate) app and my order was received in just a few days. So simple, so convenient, so comfy - all so important for your big day.

Now the shoes.... Now this was the easy choice; I knew I wanted Valentino Rockstuds from the start. It was choosing the right color that posed the biggest challenge given that I didn't have wedding colors. I tried on every option possible, fell in love with these Bordeaux colored stunners and never looked back.

I knew the moment I got engaged that I wanted owner of Salon Mona Lisa and dear family friend, Lisa, to do my hair. And even more than her styling expertise, she's just plain cool with such a calming vibe. I've always looked up to her and think of her as a sister. Not to mention my hair can be quite unruly at times and she's really the only person I trust.  I never had a hair trial. She's just that good.

I wore a veil for the ceremony so Lisa created simple beachy waves parted down the center. And for the reception, Lisa recommended a romantic side-swept look secured with a vintage hair pin. I've felt so beautiful.

My makeup was done by Alexis from A Smooth Start. She's sweet, professional and incredibly talented. I had my make up trial a week before the wedding and Alexis created a natural look with light pink lip and classic cat eye.

I wore my great grandmother, Gamma's, exquisite wedding ring and earrings I wore to high school Senior Prom. Both perfectly complemented the sweetness of my dress.

Stephen wore a 3-piece Italian wool tan suit, blue striped bowtie and merlot paisley pocket square all from JCrew. I had the cuffs fixed on a crisp white shirt from Everlane so that he could wear his grandfathers cuff links. He looked so handsome.

Black + White.

Everlane top, cluch and sandals // Topshop skirt // Julie Vos bracelet // DVF sunglasses

I can't tell you how happy I am now that the sun is shining. The past few weeks in San Francisco have been rather gloomy and has clearly taken a toll on my outfit choices. I kept things simple in black and white for a quick getaway to Napa to enjoy that California sun (& wine).

Fridaze.

I don't know about you, but this week really let me have it. After a rather stressful few days, there's nothing like a walk in the city on a beautiful Friday evening and letting all the noise from the week melt away.

Strappy Black Sandal.

How can something so simple be so flattering? Everlane has pulled it off again. It's going to be a good Summer.

Simply Smitten.

Loving Everlane's first denim dress number. It's the perfect look to lounge about over the weekend.

Sticky Fingers.

There's nothing like the softest cashmere and a new pair of shoes to brighten up this gals day. Although I have to admit, I totally stole this sweater from my mom. Completely unintentional, but I know she wasn't thrilled. But not to worry, it's already been returned to it's rightful owner. (Sorry about that, Mom!)

Crossroads.

Sometimes life just isn't fair, but it's important to remember everything happens for a reason. While you may not understand everything as it happens, it'll all make sense in the end. Have faith.

3 Things.

Visiting Osage County, KS

There's nothing like a change of pace to gain a little perspective. I love the energy of city living, but find myself fully relaxed waking to the sound of birds chirping each morning (rather than the obnoxious honks of car horns). We leave Kansas today, but with so many new memories I'll forever cherish.

My first time driving over the new Bay Bridge. So beautiful.

MBFW // Classic Sunday.

Chanel coat // Eileen Fisher top // KUT from the Kloth jeans // Charles Jourdan heels // Everlane Petra bag // Hermes bracelet

Tweed and denim for a casual Sunday afternoon. So simple and clean, this is one of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week.

MBFW // Keeping Cozy.

Everlane sweatshirt // Zara pants // Charles Jourdan heels // Nordstrom Gallery coat (vintage from my mom) // Missoni scarf // Marc Jacobs handbag // Talbots gloves

Delirium may have been setting in right at this point. I had just arrived to New York on a red eye, headed straight to the hotel, got myself looking somewhat presentable and bee lined it to Lincoln Center for some shows. Somewhere between landing and stepping out of the car at Lincoln Center, I convinced myself it was completely appropriate to wear modified sweatpants to fashion week, which is exactly what I did and savored every comfy moment of it. I just can't get enough of the New York fashion vibe - any goes, as long as you wear it with confidence.

Friday Blues.

Everlane cardigan // Gap shirt // Kut from the Kloth jeans // JCrew scarf // Crown Vintage booties // Gucci handbag // VonZipper sunglasses

This week away at the beach has gone by far too quickly, but you know what they say about having fun - time flies. I'm spending my last day away layered up and enjoying the Santa Cruz sunshine. I hope your holiday has treated you well. xo

Holiday Cheer.

S and I headed over to Everlane's (stunning) office this past Saturday to view the Fall collection and toast to the holiday season kicking off things just right.

3 Things.

This weekend was packed full of activities from birthday celebrations to visiting with my dad to a Summer preview at Everlane's showroom. But even with the busy schedule, we managed to find that right amount of down time to actually enjoy the weekend. This balancing quality is one I admire in S and love that he has introduced this to me. Before I would either be go, go, go or lazy for an entire weekend, but now really making the most of it all.

1. Ziggy enjoying the sunshine on his chair

2. Cool things we see hanging out in SOMA

3. Celebrating another year of greatness that is my godfather

Something Navy.

Everlane shirt // Kut from the Kloth jeans // Charles Jourdan heels // Dockers sunglasses

It doesn't get much simpler (and comfortable) than jeans and a tee. I kicked things up a notch by adding great pair of pumps. California casual.

3 Things.

With the holiday's quickly approaching, it's important to take a few minutes to stop and take in everything happening around you. While I don't pause enough to do this, I found a few moments this weekend that made all the difference in the world. With a busy week ahead packed full of meetings, I still managed to check out and enjoy myself. Thank goodness!

1. Obsessed with my new tote from Everlane. The Petra collection is the best addition yet.

2. Finding beauty among a pile of weeds. Love this about Santa Cruz.

3. Heading back to my happy place for the week - New York City.

Last Walk.

All good things must come to an end, but I always believe it's best to leave wishing you could stay longer. New York, you treated me well as you always do. Until February, take care. xoxo
