Stunning hydrangeas

I had the best weekend spent with family. Stephen's mother came out for a visit so we headed right down to Santa Cruz to visit with my mom for the weekend. Between the fresh crab, stunning weather and great company, a girl couldn't ask from much more.

Crossroads.

Sometimes life just isn't fair, but it's important to remember everything happens for a reason. While you may not understand everything as it happens, it'll all make sense in the end. Have faith.

Lovely succulents at Whole Foods

Weekends in Santa Cruz are simply the best. The intoxicating combination of salty air and crashing sound of the waves instantly puts me at ease. Let's hope this week brings that same cool vibe.

 {Time spent at a childhood favorite, the Beach Boardwalk}

Beach weekends are the best, especially when it feels like Summer and spent with the ones I love most. Besides catching up on relaxation, we ventured out to the Boardwalk for the annual Clam Chowder Cookoff Contest (which was superbly delicious) and enjoyed happy hour on the Pier. Although it went by too fast, I can't think of a more perfect way to spend the weekend recouping from New York Fashion Week.

3 Things.

Even though my long week at the beach is now over, S and I still managed to find some fun in the city before settling back into reality. Currently, I'm trying to avoid this at all costs, but failing miserably. Happy Monday to those of you who are finding themselves at work today, you're good people. And an even happier Monday to those fortunate enough to have the day off - you're smart people.

1. Quality time spent with my darling grandmother - priceless.

2. Heading to The Fillmore to see S's favorite band, The Devil Makes Three

3. Riding around town with the cutest co-pilot #teamZiggy

Cherished Moments.

Feeling peaceful this morning walking along the beach with my grandmother as she tells stories about her life. These are the moments I live for.

Happy Thursday!

Merry, Merry.

Merry Everything. Happy Whatever. It's not about which holiday you celebrate. It's about who you celebrate with. xo

3 Things.

After work on Friday, S, Ziggy and I piled into the car and headed to the beach to get started celebrating the holidays. Unfortunately, S woke up Saturday morning with a fever and I quickly quarantined him so that the rest of the household didn't catch whatever it was that he had caught. I kept busy by decorating the house for Christmas, wrapping presents and went to dinner with my mom at the Rock Room. S is on the mend and my grandmother arrives tomorrow. Now, it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas.

1. Morning views over brunch

2. Piping hot chicken noodle soup for my sick guy

3. Holiday cookie decorating

3 Things.

With the holiday's quickly approaching, it's important to take a few minutes to stop and take in everything happening around you. While I don't pause enough to do this, I found a few moments this weekend that made all the difference in the world. With a busy week ahead packed full of meetings, I still managed to check out and enjoy myself. Thank goodness!

1. Obsessed with my new tote from Everlane. The Petra collection is the best addition yet.

2. Finding beauty among a pile of weeds. Love this about Santa Cruz.

3. Heading back to my happy place for the week - New York City.

3 Things.

California weather this past weekend was up and down and then up again. We spent the rainy Saturday indoors only to venture out for a movie. Once the weather cleared and the sun came out again, I headed back to where I love to be, at the beach with my feet in the sand.

1. I just love a good rainy day indoors.

2. Stopping by an old college favorite, 99 Bottles.

3. There's nothing better than life with your feet in the sand

Weekends like this past one are right up my alley. A little Farmer's Market action, dinner in the Rock Room and evening dips in the hot tub. What more could a girl ask for?

Weekend, I miss you already.

1. Freshly cut dahlia's from the farmer's market

2. Dinner at Shadowbrook with my mom and S.

3. Relaxing in a sunny spot - does life get much better than this?

Summer List.

As mid-Summer rapidly approaches, the days seems to be filling up even faster. To ensure equal balance between work and play, I've pulled together a list of  to-do's that are quintessential to a fun & memorable Summer

1. Go to a Giants day game - a sunny day spent outdoors? Yes, please and thank you to free highlights

2. Walk down to Walton lighthouse (pictured above) at sunset is something I've always wanted to do. I imagine it's gorgeous and want to see it with my own eyes. Of course, I'll share with you

3. Go on a hike because we all know I hate to get sweaty and dirty (btw, if you didn't know - I don't like sweat or dirt)

4. Organize a fund outdoor group activity with friends. Let's go teamwork!

5. Take road trip within California either 2 hours North or 2 hours South. Just roll with the adventure.

6. Attend an outdoor concert - I already have this planned so this is basically already crossed off the list.

7. Get lost in a book. I'm currently debating between this one and this one. Any recommendations?

8. Plant a small herb garden using this DIY

9. Take my love for food trucks to the next level and head to Off the Grid #nomnom

10. A day of nothing. Because it feels soo good.

Santa Cruz weekends as relaxing as this past one are far and few between - dinners on the grill, a beachy street fair and wine my dear Laura & our moms. All that was really needed was a pair of sunglasses, which brought an even bigger smile to my face.

1. My mom sipping a Colorado Bulldog at The Crow's Nest

2. Discovering It's Wine Tyme - a dog friendly wine bar in the heart of Capitola Village

3. Enjoying my beach boys

3 Things.

June gloom really set in on the California coast this weekend. Although I hear the heat was sweltering inland, the sun didn't come out from behind the clouds even for a moment in Santa Cruz.. Overcast weather aside, my mom still helped me stretch out the last little bits of my birthday celebration (I so appreciate how my mom is an enabler to my ridiculous month-long party) with dinner in the Rock Room on Friday (and again on Saturday), stocking up for the week at the Farmers Market and brunch with my dear friend, Laura, and her mom. The only thing missing from the weekend was my sunshine.

1. The only sunshine I did see this weekend - beautiful Driscoll's sunshine raspberries!

2. The enchanting view from the Rock Room

3. A hot pink lip to brighten up an otherwise gloomy day.

Sunny Days Ahead.

Looking forward to a weekend of sunshine in Santa Cruz with my mom and Ziggy. I wonder what kind of trouble we get ourselves into. Happy weekend! xo

Three Things.

Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of Summer (with the following days counting down to my birthday!). Feeling the sun on your skin, warm wind in your hair and the sand underneath your feet. I just love it all.

1. To those who have served our country, thank you.

2. Time spent with my mom (in general)

3. An afternoon on the Team O'Neill catamaran - Simply amazing
