After a week with my head in the clouds, it feels good to be home. Although I really can't complain - I spent most of last week in beautiful
working alongside some of the coolest and inspiring people. Really, I’m so lucky to be paid for my job. But even with such a unique experience, I was exhausted by the week's end, and headed south to the tiny town of Vermont Star, . I heard roosters in the morning, and crickets at night, went to a bonfire in the country, listened to guitar under the moonlight, all of which I enjoyed with my favorite. And I just can't stop thinking about the delicious Carolina-style pulled pork . . . North Carolina

2. Sipping wine at Lumina in Asheville on a warm afternoon.
3. Finding a homemade soy chai with a sweet note.

If you happen to be in the Bay Area today and tomorrow make sure to check out the Simon Fashion Show at Stanford Mall. It's a fun, free, fashionable event benefiting the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. While I'm in North Carolina for the weekend, my mom will be attending the shows - If you want to follow along with her adventures during the shows make sure to follow her on twitter.

With a small lap pool on the deck of Hotel Americano's rooftop it's only fitting the outdoor dining area is named, La Piscine. The stunning views of the Hudson River and Empire State Building are the perfect setting to enjoy New York in a more intimate way. And also proved to be a great place to keep dry when the pouring rain came through in New York City.

From sweetly structured silhouettes to the funky 'Powers of 10' inspired prints, I crave each darling piece of Rachel Antonoff's S/S 2013 presentation. Really, each one should be in my closet immediately. A brilliant collection of red, white, and blue striped pieces are dream wardrobe for a day at the country club or running through the hedge mazes in Alice in Wonderland. The collection has a fanciful touch of a girl who doesn't take herself too seriously. Playful, quirky and for the girl of the moment who is not opposed to getting into a bit of slightly inappropriate fun is apparent in each piece.

After I woke up Saturday achy with a slight fever, I knew I needed to slow things down. Especially with a trip to
Vermont for work just days away followed by a quick stop in , I just can't afford to be sick. A strict regimen of chicken soup, echinacea, Ben & Jerry's (self prescribed), cuddle time with Ziggy, a little FaceTime with my favorite, and a ton of rest already has me feeling better and ready to face whatever this week may hold. 1. My new hair must have by Aveda. Perfect for those who travel.
2. Ice cream brings your temperature down, right?
3. A sweet song from my favorite.

It's almost impossible to believe I was in
this time last week. The trip was packed full of meetings, interviews, fashion shows, photo shoots and of course, some shopping with my mom - honestly, while it all went by in a whirlwind, I loved every second. I have a long term, cross country love affair with New York and can't wait to be back in February. New York

I could only hope to carry myself a fraction the amount of elegance as Carmen Dell'Orefice does. In 1947 at just 15 years old, Dell'Orefice graced the cover of Vogue magazine. Now at 81, the still working model caught the eyes and hearts of many as she strutted down the runway at the Norisol Ferrari's Spring/Summer 2013 show. Dell'Orefice looks as though she's having the time of her life, which is why her walk is one of my favorite fashion week moments.

While I absolutely love, love, love each moment spent in New York City, I can't help but miss my little guy. So when I see photos of Ziggy playing back in San Francisco my heart melts just a little and happy to see he's taking the time to smell the flowers. Everyone should follow his lead - he's a pretty happy puppy!
Tomorrow I'll get back to the regularly scheduled fashionable programming. Promise.

This is the first time I've been in New York City for September 11th and with the strength and perseverance the people of this city have carried on, I can feel the heavy sadness that blankets the city today. While I was only a sophomore in college during the tragedy of 9/11, the images I saw on tv that day are forever in my mind and truly feel for everyone affected. My hope is that 9/11 has become about remembering to help others, working to make a difference, rekindling unity, and bringing out the very best in ourselves as individuals, and as a country.
