It Is What It Is.

Every few months or so, the lobby in my office building showcases a new art collection. For the last little bit, the simply striped pieces of Eli Geiser have displayed on the walls. Geiser's Slang Art collection show just how far from simple she is - you can't help but smile while reading the clever & witty titles assigned to each piece. Each time I walk by the large It Is What It Is painting it reminds me of just how fortunate I truely am for all that I have in my life. It Is What It Is - It's Life! So enjoy it!

Have a great weekend, Everyone! xo

Project Runway.

Season 8's Project Runway has been one of the best ever. The additional half hour has made all the difference. The extra camera time spent in the Parsons workroom and designer's apartment has given viewers the opportunity to really get to know each designer. Plus the judges spare no criticism. Don't forget to watch tonight's season finale on Lifetime.
Who do you want to win?

Moussy's.

Schedule's all clear, my girlfriend's and I fit in another laughter-filled happy hour. This time we met at Moussy's - by far my Best Restaurant find since moving to San Francisco. The French bistro with 70's decor (complete with copper hood stove & wood paneling) and sly underground local are both charming and cozy. And there's wine. Lots of glorious, reasonable, wonderful wine. Moussy's may be a little hard to find, but impossible to forget.

Try it, you'll see what I mean :)

Life Saver.

Ummm, can we talk about how greatful I am for Diddams? While in the midst of planning two baby showers, a Caribbean cocktail hour and my company holiday party most would feel completely overwhelmed. I would be too, if it weren't for Diddam's - a huge wherehouse full of anything and everything you need to have a party. It's slightly alarming how walking up and down each aisle taking notice of each item on display is almost calming. Or maybe it's because I actually worked at Diddams Los Gatos in high school. Whatever the reason maybe, Diddams has helped me organize my thoughts and ease any anxiety. So bring on the parties! Ease the troubles of your inner party planner here.

Closing Night.

Sadly, it's closing night at the Actors Theatre of San Francisco. While I did see the theatre's Tennessee William's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof a few weeks back (and can't wait for the next production), Ziggy and I will miss taking our evening walks through the theatre crowd buzzing about the play during intermission. The theatre itself is small, comfortable and intimate and has a quaint neighborhood feel to it. The cast is beyond words - truely outstanding. While the theatrei is going to be quiet for now, a fun alternative is always stand-up comedy night the 2nd Tuesday of each month; completely worthy of regular monthy attendance.

Marni.

Italian fashion label - Marni - founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni [named after her sister] has gone from a well-kept secret among like-minded aesthetes to a label followed for its own sake. What I love most are the endless amount of mixing & matching possibilities. If I could, I would wear it all....

Ottimista Enoteca-Cafe.

Last week, I had a long overdue catch up session with two of my best friends in the city. When our schedules align, we have been known to meet weekly catching up over wine and a cheese plate to discuss love, life and everything in between. Last week, we had our meet up at Ottimista - perfect because of its casual, yet energentic atmosphere. The rustic decor of wine barrels, wood tables, benches with comfortable pillows, and simply adorned dishware is exactly what I imagine an Italian country side restaurant to be. I'm so pleased our schedules have slowed (a bit) and we are able to plan some fun upcoming outings. Stay tuned...

Ponte Pants.

Casual knit pants; no particular detailing or style.

Made from circular double knit fabric known as ponte de roma.

Very 70's and I love them.

Lazy Weekends.

{Original crystal door knobs}

Besides almost burning down my apartment Saturday night, I enjoyed a nice, relaxing weekend at home. I caught up on episodes of Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Sundance Channel's, The Day Before - my favorite featuring Diane Von Furstenburg's show I attended this past February (see here). I took early walks with Ziggy and painted my nails--sort of a dusty rose color this week. I did some laundry and organized my drawers gathering a BIG bag of clothes to donate. I cheered for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers (phew!) as they had big W-I-N's (& lost a little)! But mostly, I spent time thumbing through magazines and old issues of WWD along with coming up with content ideas for an upcoming Junior League publication. There's nothing like the feeling of getting a lot accomplished for a refreshed start to the week.

Angel View.

Shopping for a cause - something I love to do (see here and here). And when it's thrift shopping, things couldn't get much better. Since my beloved Next-To-New is now closed, I haven't had too much success thifting. That is, until I discovered Angel View Thrift Mart in Palm Springs. Fantastic, gently used merchandise (I picked up an amazing faux fur jacket; perfect for an upcoming trip to London) to choose from AND all proceeds directly benefit developmentally disabled children and young adults.

Date Night.

While in Palm Springs, a dinner at Fisherman's Market & Grill (or Shanghai Red's Oyster Bar) is an absolute must - casual atmosphere with not so casual food. You order at the counter on the "Fish" side (right side), get a table number, pay, go back to your table and the food is brought out to you. Dining on fresh oysters and crab martini's along with a glass of La Crema with 2 handsome guys on a gorgeous Saturday night - a girl couldn't be more lucky.

Mali Bracelets.

Last week my mom took a trip to visit family on Nantucket Island (where she was born!). Although the weather was less than desirable, she couldn't resist getting in some shopping before leaving her quaint hometown. While walking through Erica Wilson Nantucket she discovered Mali Bracelets - bracelets made of recycled rubber by women in Dejenne, Mali. Production of these bracelets means women are provided a viable means of support and are sold to raise funds for L'Empire des Enfants, a school for homeless children in Dakar, Senegal.

Show your support here.

Golden Girl.

Golden Girl

I have always been a fan of gold jewelry. And over the weekend, while flipping through the channels, I came across a TI song featuring Keri Hilson, "Got Your Back". While I am always interested in catching up on the latest music - not having a car kills me sometimes - what really caught my eye was the oversized, chunky, gold necklace worn by Keri Hilson in the video. This prompted me to collect all of the gold pieces I currently love....I guess you really can find inspiration anywhere.

See my inspiration...
