The long weekend is off to a great start with Niners and Giants wins last night. While I typically head to the beach for Labor Day, I've opted for some quiet time in the city. Up on tap, sleeping in, packing for New York, a day trip to Cuvaison, and hanging out with my main man, Ziggy. With the days ahead getting busier (and even more exciting), I plan to indulge in the simple, special times while I can.

There's nothing like finding on trend items at a great price point, like these colorful jeans found. I love them so much, I bought them in every colors.

Strawberry Margarita Pops.

Just in time for the long weekend....

Strawberry Margarita Pops

Ingredients:
3 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
juice from 1 lime
2 tablespoons tequila
1 tbsp Cointreau
pinch of salt
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup simple syrup
popsicle sticks

Directions:
Combine all ingredients into a blender, except for the simple syrup, and puree until smooth. Slowly add simple syrup until desired sweetness is achieved and blend thoroughly. Pour into 3-ounce cup molds and freeze for an hour (or until mixture is slushy) and insert wooden sticks. Freeze until completely firm, about 12 hours. To unmold the ice pops, dip the frozen molds into warm water for a few seconds and gently pull out pops.

Dip popsicles in margarita salt and enjoy!

3 Things.

After a long week, heading down to San Jose for dinner with my mom was exactly what I needed. I spent Sunday super lazy on a long walk with Ziggy, watching the 49ers beat the Broncos, and even got in a nap before heading back up to the city. All in all, a nice quiet weekend, which was all I could ask for with life feeling like it's moving at such a rapid rate suddenly.

One of the best parts of my job is the creative people I work with. Last night I went to the art show of one of my co-workers, Shayna, who spent the last year re-creating tarot cards with her own cool interpretation - it's pretty amazing stuff.  Check out more of Shayna's shenanigans here.

As the countdown begins until I leave for New York, I'm on the hunt for a trench coat - something classic, but with a twist. Whether a cool leather detail, fun ruffle or cool print, I'm loving them all.

Typically I find myself most inspired when I'm traveling and after a weekend with some of the most creative people I've ever met, I have to admit I was awed just a bit. I spent some time exploring the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA where I saw some incredible glass art (some created right in front of me). I was mesmerized by the vibrant colors and totally channeling this inspiration while I begin pulling clothes for my upcoming trip to New York.

3 Things.

This weekend was full of a lot of firsts - first trip to seattle, first time trying Thai food, first time staying at a bed & breakfast, and the list keeps going. While I'm not always the most adventurous, in good company I felt comfortable and right at home. I can't wait until the next adventure.

Summer Treat.

Mint Watermelon Pops



Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs seedless watermelon cut in cubes
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup fresh mint, minced
2 tsp grated lemon zest
sea salt

In a blender or food processor, add watermelon cubes and sugar. Puree until smooth. Stir in mint and grated lemon zest. Pour the puree into popsicle mold and add a pinch of sea salt to each cube.Freeze until hard, or about three hours, but make sure to insert popsicle sticks after an hour and a half of freezing.

3 Things.

After a gorgeous and relaxing weekend in San Francisco, it’s a little harder than usual to get back to reality. The Summer weather is in full swing in the city, which led to a long walk to the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market, brunch at Park Tavern with girlfriends, a picnic at the park, and running along Crissy Field with my favorite guy. All this, and seeing Project: Lohan – I couldn't ask for more.

1. Sunny Saturday spent picnicking in the park with my favorite.

I'm not quite sure how I've lived without for this long - a moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock all in one. What more can a girl ask for?

Is anyone else as excited as I am for the new No Doubt album? It's hard to settle down with them back in action after 10 long years. And with every album, there comes a tour, right? Get ready to see some killer looks from effortlessly cool, Gwen Steffani.

It seems most shoe brands are on board with the cap-toe craze; the new trend gracing the pages of all my current fashion magazines and blogs. Whether a heel or a flat, they offer a fresh, preppy feel to any look. And I love them all.

3 Things.

This weekend was on the quieter side, which is exactly what I needed - magazine reading, movie watching, napping with Ziggy and chatting on the phone was how the majority of my time was spent. Although not too eventful, here are a few things currently brightening up my day.

I can't believe it's already August; it feels like summer is flying by. But I guess that's what happens when you're having fun. Happy weekend! xo

Fresh & Easy.

Summer brings the freshest of fruit and the easiest of recipes. There's nothing better than this watermelon, feta and basil salad on a warm day (and it takes just minutes).

Ingredients:

• 3 1/2 lbs seedless watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes
• 2 tbs fresh lime juice
• 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, cut into thin strips
• Coarse salt and ground pepper
• 4 ounces feta cheese, broken into large pieces

Directions

In a large bowl, toss watermelon, lime juice, and half the cut basil; season with salt and pepper. Serve in bowls and scatter the feta cheese and remaining basil on top.
