I've got garden roses in cream & blush with touches of hydrangeas on my mind. Love.

Red Carpet Red.

Red Carpet Red.

Burberry dress / Dsquared2 red cardigan / Carven short sleeve shirt / TIBI red shirt / James Lakeland coat, $465 / Valentino short skirt / Helmut Lang legging / Valentino slingback pumps, $2,810 / Yves Saint Laurent clutch / Mulberry leather bracelet / Pomellato earrings, $2,000

The color red dominated the Golden Globes red carpet in a variety of shades from an eye catching crimson to a sexy Merlot. Let's face it, red is difficult enough to wear much less on a clashing red carpet, but Lupita Nyong'o's Ralph Lauren dress has inspired me to give red another chance. Because when done right, it's flawless.

Reflection.

Sometimes we don't see certain things until we're ready to see them in a certain way.

All In The Details.

\W118 by Walter Baker//Zenana Outfitters top//Tory Burch slippers//Chloe handbag//vintage ring from my great grandmother//earrings designed by Laura Benevento

Just over a week ago my long time friend, Laura, married the love of her life. Of course, the bride being the sweet, thoughtful thing she is designed earrings for all of her bridesmaids, which I was lucky enough to be one of. After all the detailed planning she put into her wedding the sheer fact that she found the time to create something unique and special for us speaks to just how lovely she is. I've pretty much worn them since I opened the box at the rehearsal dinner. So dainty & elegant - just like the stunning bride.

Sandcastle Magic.

My grandmother is an artist and I'm fortunate enough to have inherited that same appreciation. Grandmere {or Grandmother in French} fostered my love for art at an early age; growing up I would visit her for a week every year. Each day we would get up early and work in her studio - one year we sculpted another we painted with water color and then the next we cast jewelry. Each experience so different from the last, each one with memories I'll always keep with me. So the other day my artistic spark flared when I watched a glass demonstation at Open Studio in Santa Cruz....

Seriously, I really want to learn how to make glass jewelry.

Three Things.

After a hectic few weeks, it was great to put life on pause for a moment and rest up in Santa Cruz. From dinner at Shadow Brook to vintage jewelry shopping to blizzards at Dairy Queen to a morning walk on the beach with Ziggy, I got to do partake in some of my favorite beach town pastimes. I even met with a few local artists during Open Studio's currently going on in Santa Cruz. Although it wasn't the best weekend for Bay Area sports, it's the rough times that make you appreciate the great ones. Not to worry, we'll come back stronger than ever.

1. The last hydrangea's of the season.

2. Water color painted seashells outlining a planter

3. A shell full of glass beads - I'm determined to learn how to do this.

Three Things.

This past weekend one of my dearest friends got married and was every bit the glowing bride I expected her to be - absolutely stunning. Although the weekend went by in a flash, I found a few special moments that will forever be mine.

1. Celebrating the lovely bride & groom

2. Some beach time with my baby

3. Knowing that I have someone who cares about me as much as I do them.

I'm With Her.

From sweetly structured silhouettes to the funky 'Powers of 10' inspired prints, I crave each darling piece of Rachel Antonoff's S/S 2013 presentation. Really, each one should be in my closet immediately. A brilliant collection of red, white, and blue striped pieces are dream wardrobe for a day at the country club or running through the hedge mazes in Alice in Wonderland. The collection has a fanciful touch of a girl who doesn't take herself too seriously. Playful, quirky and for the girl of the moment who is not opposed to getting into a bit of slightly inappropriate fun is apparent in each piece.

Shayna Shenanigans

One of the best parts of my job is the creative people I work with. Last night I went to the art show of one of my co-workers, Shayna, who spent the last year re-creating tarot cards with her own cool interpretation - it's pretty amazing stuff.  Check out more of Shayna's shenanigans here.

Hot Shop.

Typically I find myself most inspired when I'm traveling and after a weekend with some of the most creative people I've ever met, I have to admit I was awed just a bit. I spent some time exploring the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA where I saw some incredible glass art (some created right in front of me). I was mesmerized by the vibrant colors and totally channeling this inspiration while I begin pulling clothes for my upcoming trip to New York.
