3 Things.

There's nothing I love more than spending time with my Grandmother - she's the cutest little thing ever! A few years ago, I made her a promise that my mom and I would spend Thanksgiving at her home in Texas going forward. It's fun to pause for a moment and spend time with the ones you love the most. One things for sure, there is never a shortage of laughs with those two.

1. Something old, something new - my grandmother's Nantucket High School class ring from 1946. Haven't taken it off since I put it on.

2. Finding this lovely photo of my dressed as a cowgirl. That hair!

3. Goofing around with my favorite traveling partner, my mom.

3 Things.

My extended weekend in Texas went by in a flash; I can't believe it's over and I'm already heading back to work. Time really does fly when you are having fun and this is exactly what I needed with some very eventful weeks coming up!

1. Dinner on the pier at my favorite restaurant, Snoopy's. As a tradition, we always have dinner here the first night in Corpus Christi and have been doing so since I was a little girl.

2. Monarch butterflies filled the air bringing an almost magical feel to Texas.

3. Finding the plane my dad learned to fly on years ago is such a special moment in my life. I'm a proud Navy daughter.

Above the Storm.

After a long, bumpy night, I landed safely in Corpus Christi, TX for a long weekend at the beach with my mom. After the last few weeks, I couldn't be happier to trade the city noise for the sound of waves as I fall asleep at night.

Sunshiny Day.

I think it's pretty apparent I'm a sucker for a sunny day, even if I have to layer it up to enjoy - I just throw on all of my favorites. Speaking of favorite, check out the ipad case my favorite picked for me. Besides being cute with its red self, the keyboard inside makes blogging life on the road soo much easier. Always thinking, that one.

And these booties. I'm loving them something fierce.

3 Things.

There's nothing like spending the holiday with my two favorite gals. This year my mom and I took the show on the road and visited my Grandmother in Texas for Thanksgiving. The trip itself wasn’t all too eventful, but the time spent together was priceless. As I get older, I find more and more it’s the simple things that matter most.

1.      My mom & Gammy enjoying after dinner warmers

2.      Shopping for accessories and sparkly baubles at Charming Charlie

3.      Coming home to my sweet boy

Oldie But Goodie.

Missoni for Target dress//Julie Collection bracelet

I just love a simple shift dress with a fun pattern, especially when its an iconic print like Missoni. And I jump at the chance to wear one whenever it's warm since San Francisco's weather doesn't always allow for this - honestly is there anything easier to wear than a dress? Just add a fun accessory and neutral sandals (or the reverse) and you're set....pending the weather report, of course.

Crab Dip Do-Over.

During happy hour at Virginia's on the Bay* in Texas, the table shared crab dip. Honestly, the appetizer was so-so and found myself craving something so much better. So as soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to try a new version and this time I wasn't left disappointed.

*While Virginia's crab dip left little to be desired it's  the perfect spot for drinks while watching the sunset.

Ingredients:
11oz softened cream cheese
1 small finely chopped onion
5 tbsp mayonnaise
1lb fresh crab meat
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, onion, mayonnaise, crab meat, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Spread mixture into a 1 quart baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Remove crab dip from the oven and stir well and spoon into hollowed out bread bowl. Place bread bowl and chunks of bread on a medium baking sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot (I like to add a little cocktail sauce too)

Enjoy!

3 Things.

After a quick weekend away at the beach in North Padre Island, I'm beyond thrilled to return home to gorgeous weather - hello, 80 degrees in November; in San Francisco. Although I do still wish I was walking the beach and eating fresh seafood daily with my mom, grandmother and aunt. A girls weekend with three generations was nothing short of fun and constant laughter. Mustang Island never saw all the trouble coming its way ;)

1. I heart the beach forever and always

2. Streets lined in Texas flags. Only in Texas would you see this....

3. Walking the footsteps of the best gal I know - my mom.
