MBFW // All About Texture.

JCrew dress & vest // Eileen Fisher leggings // Crown Vintage boots // Nordstrom Gallery coat // Fenton Fallon x JCrew necklace // Talbots gloves // DVF sunglasses

I decided on all black everything for my Day 2 at fashion week and added some texture with a grey Merino wool vest and some sparkle with a gorgeous statement necklace from the Fenton Fallon x JCrew collaboration some years back. While feeling chic with simplicity, I more importantly remained warm in the chilly New York weather.

Son Jung WAN // Fall 2014.

Contradiction creates balance when 1930s Hollywood glamour meets futuristic silhouettes. A palette of gold, ivory, sapphire, fur, gunmetal and sequins invoked all shades of emotion, the underlying inspiration behind Son Jung WAN's Collection

Ruffian // Rapture F/W14.

Luminous color combinations kept things light against rich, heavy fabrics. An interesting combination of glamour meets religion, Ruffian somehow make it work leaving you in a state of rapture. Red tights will definitely be a new addition to my Fall wardrobe.

3 Things.

 {Time spent at a childhood favorite, the Beach Boardwalk}

Beach weekends are the best, especially when it feels like Summer and spent with the ones I love most. Besides catching up on relaxation, we ventured out to the Boardwalk for the annual Clam Chowder Cookoff Contest (which was superbly delicious) and enjoyed happy hour on the Pier. Although it went by too fast, I can't think of a more perfect way to spend the weekend recouping from New York Fashion Week.

MBFW // Keeping Cozy.

Everlane sweatshirt // Zara pants // Charles Jourdan heels // Nordstrom Gallery coat (vintage from my mom) // Missoni scarf // Marc Jacobs handbag // Talbots gloves

Delirium may have been setting in right at this point. I had just arrived to New York on a red eye, headed straight to the hotel, got myself looking somewhat presentable and bee lined it to Lincoln Center for some shows. Somewhere between landing and stepping out of the car at Lincoln Center, I convinced myself it was completely appropriate to wear modified sweatpants to fashion week, which is exactly what I did and savored every comfy moment of it. I just can't get enough of the New York fashion vibe - any goes, as long as you wear it with confidence.

Lee Jean Youn // F/W14

Lee Jean Youn presented a muted color palette filled with texture and a punk-meets-elegant vibe. The collection was inspired by classic, yet unconventional aspects of New York City translated to a modern rebel of a woman.

Rebecca Minkoff // F/W 2014.

Absolutely love, love, love Rebecca Minkoff's girl-meets-boy inspired collection opting for a simpler, more understated approach to dressing. Rather than transporting us elsewhere, Minkoff showed a cool, fashion-forward silhouette that work in your everyday wardrobe. And can we just talk about the quilted fanny pack? Swoon.

These Nails // F/W14 RTW.

Still on East coast time, I woke up early enough to sit down and savor the last few minutes of my vacation before heading back to reality.

PS. These nails were inspired by Rebecca Minkoff's wine with black french tip manicure from her Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear show.

3 Things.

{Judi Dench is brilliant in Philomena. Must see.}

We've finally made it back to California. Originally, planned to come home last Thursday, the weather detained my mom and I for an additional three days in New York City. Rough stuff, I know, but we certainly made the best of it by taking in a movie at the quaint Paris Theatre, ogled over the sparkling collection of Jewels by JAR and enjoyed an afternoon tea in The Palm Court. For how often we stay at The Plaza, it's almost a crime we haven't indulged until now. All in all, this trip to New York was the most incredible yet, but so happy to be home sweet home.

Black Sail by Nautica // Fall 2014.

Cute boys in chunky knits and puffy, what's not to love? Black Sail by Nautica perfectly balanced fashion with function, all while staying true to its maritime roots.
