Balenciaga and Spain.

An absolute must see.

I can't think of a better way to spend a rainy Sunday with a great friend then wandering around the de Young. As a result of seeing the Balenciaga and Spain exhibition, I am now completely obsessed with vintage lace jewelery.

See some of my favorite finds from Etsy shop, WhiteFly.

{Silver Vintage Lace Cuff}

{Lace covered Aventurine necklace}

{Gold Vermeil Vintage Lace Cuff}

{Vintage Lace ring}

Amanda White is the creative mastermind behind this intricately exquisite line. Each carefully handmade item is crafted without a mold making each piece one of a kind.

I know this isn't vintage lace, but I can't get over this pinky ring.

3x1 Denim.

Now this isn't breaking news, WWD was actually first to report Scott Morriso had partnered with Eric Rothfeld to create 3x1 Denim a few weeks back. But today, my office has the opportunity to get the inside scoop - Eric Rothfeld is heading to SF and stopping by for a visit (Mr. Rothfeld co-founded the company I work for). Amongst the million other things I'm sure he has on the agenda, time has been set aside for my co-workers and I to partake in a little Q&A over milk and cookies - yes, my company is that darling.

Back to 3x1 - the concept is a little outside the box; a 7,300-square-foot space in Soho at 15 Mercer Street that will act as both a production facility and a shop, offering a behind-the-scenes look for denim aficionados.

Umm first question. When is a 3x1 opening in San Francisco?

Spring Fever.

Spring Fever.
While I'm personally partial to sunshine (see  here, here and here), I don't mind a rainy day here and there. An excuse for a cozy days indoors can be both relaxing and productive - time to catch up on movies, laundry, enjoy homemade food, catch up on favorite magazines and online window shop. And being that the majority of the last 5 days have been wet it's only natural my list of must-haves for Spring is growing at an abserdly rapid rate (yes, I'm blaming the weather). Here are some essentials I don't plan on living long without..

Housewarming.

There is nothing better than a good housewarming party - great wine, a variety of bites and taking a moment to celebrate a close friends home. Plus, you totally get to snoop around, you're basically asked to. While it's customary to bring a bottle of wine and some form of foliage (an orchid for your green thumb; succulents for those not-so-much) to your host, sometimes it's fun to buy something that your friend wouldn't necessarily purchase. When looking for modern, unique gift ideas GENERATE is my online destination for all things cool.

Bloggers Day of Silence.

It takes a lot to silence me, but for a good cause - no problem. This is why your regularly scheduled blog post will not post tomorrow as I will be participating in For Japan With Love. The events that have forever affected Japan and those across the Pacific have weighted heavy on my heart and my mind. Earlier this week, I donated here and now Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged have partnered in an effort to unite bloggers in a day of silence to raise awareness and respect and acknowledge the devastation going on in Japan.

All money donated to For Japan With Love is going towards ShelterBox's for those currently displaced from their homes. ShelterBox provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

Make your donations here.

Remember, every little bit helps xoxo

Tiny Happy.

Since joining the JLSF, I have to admit I had almost completely forgotten about the San Jose fundraising Rummage Sale they hold every other year. But since the closing of my beloved Next-to-New consignment store last year, I haven't kept up on my second hand shopping - a key way to ensure you have those unique pieces to set apart your wardrobe from the rest. I found my greatest success in the 'boutique' section where I quickly nabbed up a hammered metal collar necklace, a wooden bracelet that actually fits and a broach made from vintage watch parts - all items I wasn't necessarily looking for, but for under $10, I couldn't live without.

To Japan, With Love.

The last few weeks have been tough for me, but in comparison to the events recently occurred in Japan and across the Pacific, my problems are nonexistent in comparison. Along with my prayers, I’ve donated to the Red Cross (here) for those seeking refuge from the tsunami. My thoughts are with those who have friends and family in Japan.

Rock on.

From the second it started I was in love. In love with Drew, in love with Sherrie, in love with the club owner dude and the German, I could go on and on. If you have even the faintest guilty pleasure for 80s rock, you are sure to have an awesome time.

Accidentally On Purpose.

One birthday celebration a few weeks back, I, along with my girlfriends, sought refuge in Bocadillos. After having a not so pleasant experience at a certain lounge full of bubbles (which shall remain nameless), things quickly turned around moments after entering Bocadillos. Squeezing the 4 of us at a tiny table certainly wasn't planned, but the restaurant's energetic vibe ended up being the perfect (relocation) celebration spot.

Oh and Bocadillos has tapas. I don't just like tapas. I love tapas (see here). I love ordering an assortment of small plates in attempt to try as much as possible. I also love how I try to rationalize me eating an absurd amount of food in the previous sentence...so sad, but I tried.

Must try: patatas bravas with romesco sauce.

Skinny Style.

No no, I'm not talking about dieting with Bethenny's Skinny Girl products. Rather, I prefer to discuss jewelry. More specifically, rings. It's no secret I'm a big fan of fun, unique jewelry (see here, here, here and here) and this is no exception for Skinny, jewelry line designed by Jessica Elliot. Skinny, named for the woman who is current and in the know - the woman who has the "skinny". Now I just may be partial to all things sparkly, but I especially love her double finger ring - it looks like the rhinestones are floating on your fingers.

Kusmi Tea.

Considering that I woke up at 4am yesterday morning with a 102 fever, I can now see why I was lacking creativity last week - I was getting sick. Whatever this bug floating around is, it did take out quite a few coworkers last week. Although it seemed short lived, I had hoped I could avoid it all together. Guess not :(

While I was lucky enough to have my little Ziggy here to take care of my bedridden self, I did have to take him out for bathroom breaks. Yesterday morning, I stopped by the Vietnamese sandwich shop/Cafe for a hot chocolate. I must have appeared extremely ill because the owner refused to sell me a hot chocolate, but did make me "special tea" to make me better. I'm still not 100% as to what I exactly drank, but that combined with multiple cups of Kusmi tea is what is getting me through.

Once I'm better, I will have to try out the recipes on their website - cocktails infused with teas. Genius!

MomArt 2.

{view from the Crow's Nest}

A little MomArt to bring you into the weekend. As previously mentioned (here), my mom loves to walk, everywhere. And while on her journeys should something inspiring catch her eye, she reaches for her blackberry(her camera of choice), snaps a quick pic, and sometimes what she deems her best pop up in my email box.
So today I give you her inspiration as mine has been waning away this week. Hard to believe as Paris Fashion Week is happening - fashion shows always bring inspiration. This week have been busy, but with that equally as productive, which has worn me out! It just makes me appreciate the fact that it's Friday that much more.
