Perspective.
The last few weeks I've been a little off from my usual self. I know that things can't and won't always go my way, but it feels especially so lately. However, last night I had a change in perspective when I attended a fundraiser for a coworker who is running her first Half Marathon proceeds going towards the cure for Crohn's and Colitis, which is something that personally affects her. Seeing this type of dedication is touching and reminded me I have so much to be thankful for - great family, friends, job, my health, love and Ziggy. It's important to stay focused on the positive in front of you rather than dwell on the little things that pass you by. From the disappointments will eventually come the realization that there's something better right around the corner.

3 Things.
June gloom really set in on the California coast this weekend. Although I hear the heat was sweltering inland, the sun didn't come out from behind the clouds even for a moment in Santa Cruz.. Overcast weather aside, my mom still helped me stretch out the last little bits of my birthday celebration (I so appreciate how my mom is an enabler to my ridiculous month-long party) with dinner in the Rock Room on Friday (and again on Saturday), stocking up for the week at the Farmers Market and brunch with my dear friend, Laura, and her mom. The only thing missing from the weekend was my sunshine.
1. The only sunshine I did see this weekend - beautiful Driscoll's sunshine raspberries!
2. The enchanting view from the Rock Room
3. A hot pink lip to brighten up an otherwise gloomy day.
