3 Things {Memorial Weekend Edition}

For the first time ever, I'm taking a full week vacation - something I couldn't be more thrilled about. With my 30th birthday just around the corner, I knew that the last place I wanted to be was at work (no offense to my fabulous co-workers). Instead I opted for a week filled with those I love the most in my favorite sunny California spots. First stop, Palm Springs for some tanning by the pool, new adventures (more soon), and of course, tons of delicious BBQ. Although this week has only just begun, here are three things currently that currently bring a smile to my face.

1. Teeny bikinis - but not just any teeny bikinis. These are from my thinner days AND they now fit! More to come on my no-diet diet plan.

2. Fresh corn on the cob now in season. Mmmm.

3. The perfect day. An afternoon matinee of The Hangover 2 followed by happy hour all day at AcquaPazza.

Red, White and Not So Blue.

 Yet again, it's been another grueling week. Maybe it's because the week felt extra long due to the much anticipated holiday weekend ahead or maybe it's just been a taxing past few days {I'll settle for both}. Either way, for a week that began with disappointing news quickly took a turn in my favor and now I plan on celebrating by desert and then by beach. MUCH more to come....

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

All On The Line.

For those of you who aren't privy to Sundance Channel's All On The Line, you've been missing out. It's been only a short time since I discovered this show and it has already come to be a great source of inspiration for me - you have to work hard to achieve your dreams, like really hard, which isn't always an easy feat. And you need to have support from those who believe in you and your vision. Enter Joe Zee, Creative Director at Elle magazine. With over 20 years experience in the fashion industry, Zee's point of view is relevant. Combine this with his extensive knowledge of the business and his ever-so-important connections with buyers in high places, Joe Zee is giving talented designers in a standstill the inspiration to find their niche in an otherwise overly saturated market. I'm in love, love, love with this show and over the moon to find they have picked it up another season.

Patience Flower.

Sweet April showers
Do spring May flowers*
Patience Floral.

Whether it's a flirty romper, sky high stilettos, a flowing maxi or some fun, bright accessories there is something perfectly floral for everyone. You can keep things simple by pairing a floral blouse and colorful trousers or shake things up by mixing and matching floral prints{as long as patterns are distinctly different = no matchy-matchy}. With every page I turn of my favorite magazines, I see this ultra girl print, I look forward to see this trend translated into real life.

*a reminder that even the most unpleasant of things can bring about very enjoyable things

Keeping it Classy.

Keep It Classy.

I want to point at you in this ring and flip you off in this one {well, probably not YOU. I ♥ U}

Definitely not the sweetest thing I've ever said, but at least I'd be a bitch in style.

3 Things.

Ay yi yi last week put me in quite a tailspin. Between projects at work, after work obligations and squeezing 3 nights in one with my girlfriends, my head was spinning and I knew that I was in dire need of a weekend devoted to rest and relaxation - basically no plans was the plan. The majority was spent doing exactly what I had hoped - reading, laughing out loud to my favorite tv shows, watched a movie {something I rarely do} and couldn't help but sneak in a little shopping. Now I'm all set for another full week, but really, I'm just counting down the minutes until the long weekend ahead.

1. Catching up with the twins of Sweet Valley after all these years. Jessica and Todd?! Elizabeth and Bruce!?! I know, I'm a total geek.

2. SNL. Just watch, you'll understand.
3. Taking over Tory Burch on Maiden Lane {best customer service} and walking away with the perfect pair of flats. With my mom, of course. I'm turning into a Burch bitch real quick here.

MoneyGrabber.

I love when I find a song that instantly puts a smile on my face and a tap in my foot, and is just plain fun to sing along with. Even better when the video inspires a sharp look complete with fresh, white tuxedo jacket, bold blue hues and red accents with just the perfect amount of sparkle.

Must. Go. Shopping.

1. Sparkle tank top, $215

Who do you think you are?

{Tory Burch, hexagon studded wrap bracelet}

Not Tory Burch. Oh yes, you are! Typically, items are pretty obvious if you are keen to the TB trademark, so when I found this double wrap, very un-branded bracelet, I quickly knew it had to be mine. I love buying {quality} designer, but don't necessarily love being a walking advertisement. With this, I still maintain a little individuality and style - with an edge.

Golden Rules.

{opi}

Choosing a nail polish color can be a daunting task - so many colors appear strikingly similar in the bottle yet so distinctly unique on the nail. Not to mention, the interminable spectrum of hues in salons makes choosing that one special color even harder. But all this has changed, thanks to the new trend of mismatched polish colors. Intrigued, I decided to give this trend a go, combining this, this and this color.

*Tip for mixing: bright shades, neutrals and metallic are core polishes to chose when mixing hues; making the composite color brighter, lighter, and/or shinier, respectively. Choose the neutral as your base and brighten & metalize up in odds.

3 Things.

 The weekend was full of great news; each day brought stories of good fortune for friends and family. I can't tell you how amazing it is to witness dreams come true all around me. I am so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life - those I find the most inspiration from.

1. Vintage amethyst & pearl earrings that belonged to my great grandmother.

2. The Cal Italia from Tony's Pizza Napoletana - worth the 2 hour wait. Enough said.

3. Smiling each time I look into my purse and see these Italian treats {courtesy the BabyFasedAsasin}

MomArt 4.

This week was full of meetings, emails and nerdy tech stuff that makes me think I should have majored in computer science. Although, had I done so I probably would have gone cross-eyed and flunked out of school so it’s probably for the better for all that I didn’t. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to relaxing this weekend with Ziggy.

Speaking of the little guy, here are some recent pics provided by my lovely mother.

Everyday Inspiration.

{Linda Wells, Allure Editor-in-Chief}

"Whether it's the beauty industry or publishing, obviously you have to work really hard. And don't be too hungry for recognition, such as title changes. A certain amount of impatience is good, but you've got to be able to put in the hard work without the recognition. Inevitably someone will notice. Also, work for the best organization you can. The people you learn from are so talented, and being associated with a great company elevates you, gives you status and quality you haven't even earned yet."  CEW.

Rouge et Blanc.

Classy, but unpretentious. And very generous.

Also, why are so many wine bars closed on Monday's?! This one obviously is open making it that much more awesome.

Hoodoo Voodoo.

{Opi}

Flattering, work appropriate and goes with everything. What more could you ask for?

3 Things.

1. Palm Springs = sunshine (enough said)

2. Doing something I haven't done in years - laser bowling

3. Early Monday morning flights, so I can spend just a little extra time with the two I love so much.

TOMS loves Moms.

{TOMS loves Moms limited edition shoe}

I was lucky enough to grab a pair for my mom before these limited edition canvas print cuties ran out.
 Sweet enough for her to wear on her walks, yet comfy enough to wear as slippers. Plus with every pair you purchase, TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a child in need.

Happy Mother's Day to the best mom I could ever ask for. Thank you for all of your guidance, wisdom and style.

Neutral Grounds.

Went to DSW looking for the perfect neutral color shoe for a Free People maxi dress c/o Gilt Group and walked out with these.

Make a bold color your neutral.

About the Sheltered Garden Ground.

{Topshop top, H&M skirt, Steve Madden shoes, gold ring from my Madrinha}

About the sheltered garden ground
The trees stand strangely still.
The vale ne'er seemed so deep before,
Nor yet so high the hill.

An awful sense of quietness,
A fulness of repose,
Breathes from the dewy garden-lawns,
The silent garden rows.

As the hoof-beats of a troop of horse
Heard far across a plain,
A nearer knowledge of great thoughts
Thrills vaguely through my brain.

I lean my head upon my arm,
My heart's too full to think;
Like the roar of seas, upon my heart
Doth the morning stillness sink

Hard to Get.

a sultry creamy light pink.

Why? You didn't ask. Since the start of the Housewives of Orange County, each week I've noticed Tamra's nail color which is the perfect compliment to her golden tan. I have the nail color. Now I just need the tan. Purely scientific, I know.

3 Things.

Here are a few items that helped me recoup from yet another crazy and exhausting week at work....

1. A little pampering at my local {tiny} nail salonbest mani in SF.

2. Day trip to across the bridge with my favorite JLSF girls.

3. Sharing one of the loveliest Sunday's I've ever seen since moving to the city here with my mom.
