the Royal Wedding.

"She is very elegant," Karl Lagerfeld told France 2 television. "The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of Queen Elizabeth's wedding, the royal weddings in the Fifties. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot."

"Kate's dress was simply elegant," Viktor & Rolf said. "Her hair down was a beautiful and natural touch, and the tiara was stunning. She looked as at-ease as humanly possible and was radiant. Our compliments."

"It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress, and I have enjoyed every moment of it," Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen.

"I like the dress very much, simpler than expected: A combination just in between 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress," Christian Lacroix told WWD. "I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother's Thirties scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She's radiant; she never was so beautiful. And Prince William's red Irish uniform is gorgeous."

"The dress is very simple and very nice," Hubert de Givenchy added. "The veil is a little flat, but because she has such a lovely face, she can afford to wear it this way. She is very pretty." About choosing a dress from McQueen, whose founder committed suicide last year, De Givenchy said: "It's a lovely thought, a nice tribute."

Soif.

It's no secret I enjoy a great glass of wine in a fabulous atmosphere. Add incredible food and you have yourself one loyal patron. Nine years ago, when I moved to Santa Cruz for college one of my girlfriends came to visit me. She had just returned from Switzerland where she had been an au pair for a French family. As we were walking down the street catching up, she suddenly said "Thirst" (or Soif in French) as she noticed the name of a new wine bar moving in and has been in the back of my mind since. Saturday night, I finally realized what I had been missing all along. Just go.

A tiny treasure that was only steps away. I plan on making up for lost time.

Only Child.

Bell Tower; just recently discovered, I almost want to keep this secret for myself. But, I was taught it's nice to share with others, so fine. Though it looks simple from the outside, don't let the exterior fool you - the food is phenomenal.

Make sure to take a peek out back. It'll take you to another place, which I plan to escape to this weekend.

Happy Easter!

Wide Expectations.

Wide Expectations.

In my opinion, the wider the pant leg, the better. What's not to love about a garment that's comfortable, elongates your legs and instantly updates your look with a touch of sophistication.- given, of course, you have the right fit. Three years ago, I bought these wide leg trousers. My friends had mixed reviews, but I loved them then as much as I do today. The funny thing is, those very same friends are beginning to inquire as to where they can get a pair of their very own ;)

Rain, Rain.

Go Away!
Seriously. I'm over you.

{JCrew dress, H&M coat & scarf, Talbots belt, Eileen Fisher leggings, Steve Madden Luxe boots, Jimmy Choo handbag c/o mom's closet, Gucci watch, CC Skye bracelet}

This San Francisco weather is driving me mad. Just a few days ago it was sunny, but today's forecast calls for more light showers! Not knowing what this fickle weather will do next, I stick to my #1 rule when it comes to SF fashion: live by layering. A classic wool JCrew dress is the perfect base - so soft, comfy and warm, topped with a light weight jacket and scarf keeps things versatile. And boots. Boots can be spotted pretty much year round in the city. Oh, and a trip to mom's closet to borrow a gorgous handbag is always epic.

But see what I love about this city.

Sunday Morning.

Sunday mornings are one of my favorite times and whenever in Santa Cruz, I know it is Ziggy's favorite time. It's when we wake up early and go for a looong walk. When looking back through my photos of SC, I realized they kind of tell the story from Ziggy's point of view....

{first stop}

{ok, now we're all ready}

{off to the beach}

{for some ball}

{and to dig}

{a little deeper}

{then take in the scenery and do some jumps over the barrier}

{next a quick stop by the Farmers Market}

{Oh look! shopping}

 {and I get tied up while they browse & bargain}

{Carolee necklaces & twisted metal bracelet}
{Gutierrez ring}

{a new necklace. yes, it is what you think it is}

{back towards the home}

 {to take a nap}

{hiding so I don't have to go home}

Where's Ziggy?

Sadly, Ziggy and I will not be heading back to the beach this weekend. I appreciate your patience as I have been dwelling on my Santa Cruz weekends during the past 2 weeks to keep me going; we have been so spoiled with such lovely weather. However, I will be participating in the Great Race hosted by the Rotary of Los Gatos. If you are around the Los Gatos area, come join the fun!

That Dress.

Have you ever owned a piece of clothing that just makes you feel like a million bucks? You can dress it up or dress it down, but no matter what - you know you look good in it. That's the feeling I get whenever I slip on my favorite A.L.C. dress. Between the luxurious fabrics & fine attention to detail, this piece is quickly becoming an essential I'm amazed I've lived without until now.

I can't wait to flip it to the striped side and pair with bright accessories. Oh yeah, it's reversible ♥

{A.L.C dress, JCrew shoes, DVF clutch, my darling Ziggy}

Channeling my inner-Gisele. I know what your thinking, the similarity is uncanny ;)

It Just Keeps Getting Better.

{JCrew & Miu Miu}

Any day that begins at a fashion show fundraiser for JLSF and ends with a crab martini at the Crow's Nest is pretty much perfect in my book. More to come on yet another fabulous weekend at the beach....

Happy Feet.

When the weather is as lovely as it was in Santa Cruz this past weekend, a large chunk of time is spent outdoors walking Ziggy. Whether it be the beach or a miles long adventure to Starbucks, most of our time is spent on foot {or paws}. So when my mom and I came across an establishment dedicated solely to foot massages, we had to inquire within. Soon we found ourselves in a dark movie theater-type room full of padded shayz lounges. Not only did I experience the foot massage of a lifetime, they hit all other pressure points - hands, shoulders, back, arms and face..?   Ok, the face part was a little awkward, but all-in-all a pretty interesting experience.

I'd go back. They have a punch card.

Just Doing What We Do.

It's no secret, I'm a BIG {fan of pretending to be a} foodie (see here, here and here). For those who know me well, know that when I find something I like - I'm pretty much obsessed (see you later today, @cremebruleecart). My mom is the exact same way, so when we arrived at the Rock Room for a drink before dinner to find the best table available, we quickly forgot about our dinner plans and planted ourselves in the 2 cozy chairs right in front of the fire place. Talking, laughing, people watching, drinking wine over some chevre and baby beets - just doing what we do.

Plus, I have a certain affinity towards places with yellow rose stain glass.
