Perfect Apple Pie.
One of my responsibilities for Thanksgiving was to make a dessert. Why I was chosen..? Not so sure, but am happy those I am closest to believe I am at capable of handling such as task. This being said, I decided to use my mom's favorite go-to cook book from Better Homes & Gardens. Creating the Perfect Apple Pie was suprisingly easy! Just follow the recipe below.
Ingredients:
8 tart apples pared & sliced
1/2 lemon
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Pastry for 2 crusts
2 tbsp butter
Directions:
Squeeze juice of 1/2 lemon on apples and set aside. Combine sugar, flour and spices and mix with apples. Line pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture, dot with butter. Place top crust and pinch edges together. Cut slips on top crust. Sprinkle the top with sugar. Bake at 400 degress for 50 minutes. Or until done.
Enjoy!
