Favor.

Last Sunday-Funday, I was out with my girlfriends enjoying the San Francisco sun when I discovered Favor, a small boutique shop completely devoted to accessories--necklaces, bracelets, rings, brooches galore! Most days you can find Caramia, Favors owner/jewelry designer, at the store creating jewelry. Caramia discovered her talent for jewelry making when a stranger approached her and made an offer for the bracelet on her wrist. Although, Favor's true success is the diversity amongst each piece. No matter who you are, where you're from or what your interests are, you will find a treasure here to enhance and express you. Feel free to take that as a challenge :)

{Rings, beautifully displayed in brightly colored bowls of stones and pebbles give the store a comfortable, natural feel}

{All jewelry is made to order in the design studio right upstairs}

{Carved resin jewelry is hand cast in molds inspired by vintage bakelite, yet uniquely modern}

There is no place like home.

With all there is to do in the city, sometimes it just feels good to get away and get back to my roots...back home where I grew up. Back to the community who has played a large part in shaping who I am today. And back to a place I always feel safe--Almaden Valley. Although recent trips home have been surrounded with sad circumstances, there is a certain sense of comradery when together to offering comfort and support during such devastating times. It's during these moments innate goodness comes through. Some of my fondest childhood memories have taken place in the lush scenary above..The Creek. This is where I laughed, played and explored as a child. I can't believe I used to run around barefoot! But as a child, I never had a second thought. And while my yellow brick road may be more a rock-filled path, the end result is the same...the true feeling that there is no place like home. 143 my darlings.

Lalola.

One of my special treasures in San Francisco is hidden away in Nob Hill on Pacific and Mason--Lalola. Many laughs have been shared with friends enjoying this comfy neighborhood restaurant while sipping sangria and nibbling on Spanish tapas. I adore this spot because it's perfect for all occasions--catching up with an old friend celebrating or with a loud group of girlfriends or a lovely dinner with the family. And while I'm not typically a person who orders dessert at restaurants (usually because I am too full), I can't leave without ordering Pudin de Curasan al Chocolate. Translation: Croissant Chocolate Bread Pudding...Enough said.
